CERTIFICATIONS

K1 Packaging Group maintains Chain-of-Custody certifications under the FSC® and SFI® standards. Maintaining Chain-of-Custody traces the path of products from forests through the supply chain, verifying that certified material is identified or kept separated from non-certified material throughout the chain. The Chain-of-Custody process ensures the consumer that the certified products they purchase are coming from responsibly managed forests. K1 Packaging Group offers substrates that are certified by FSC or SFI.

The Journey: K1 started with in-depth market research, analyzing what consumers and brands value most in premium beauty packaging. Through this process, we identified four key insights:

      • Style: Users preferred a compact, sleek design.

      • Material: We aimed to eliminate all plastic and avoid embedded magnets.

      • Function: The palette should open and close smoothly while securing the pots.

      • User Experience: Users wanted recyclable packaging without mirrors.

The Solution: Leveraging these insights, K1 developed Envi-Lok™, a fully recyclable, molded paperboard palette designed for both sustainability and shelf appeal. Its secure slide-open design features a satisfying audible snap-lock and a removable tray for easy recycling of empty tins. Made from paperboard or post-consumer recycled materials, Envi-Lok™ proves that premium aesthetics, functionality, and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

The Journey: K1 partnered with Eureka to bring their sustainability and branding goals to life. After careful evaluation, we recommended:

• Kinder-Lok™ Paper Tubes for the pens: fully recyclable and durable, designed for secure protection and premium presentation.

• PCR Material Pouches for the refills: made with 40% post-consumer recycled content and custom-designed to mirror the look and feel of the primary packaging.

A Sustainable Alternative to
Magnet Locks

The Challenge:Pura Vida, a brand celebrated for blending fashion with purpose, set out to create an advent calendar in premium rigid box packaging that reflected their commitment to sustainability. But one key obstacle stood in the way. Traditional magnet locks, common in luxury packaging, are difficult to recycle and contradicted their eco-friendly goals. They needed a solution that offered the same sleek look and secure closure, without compromising their values.

     • Shipper Box: 200# B Kraft (FSC certified, 60-95% post-consumer waste, 100% recyclable, produced with over 60% renewable energy).
